Strengthened Milli Takim Side Returns for Second MKS Melbourne Tournament Outting

After their initial foray into Champions Cup 2010 tournament, Milli Takim has returned for their second MKS Melbourne tournament, the MKS Melbourne Shield tournament.  Milli Takim performed admirably on their first outing.  Although they failed to qualify for the semi-finals, they finished fourth in their groups, sharing 9 points with Nioukyen FC but losing out on goal difference (-2 against Nioukyen FC's 4).  Furthermore, from only their first tournament, Milli Takim entered MKS Melbourne's team rankings at the tenth position with 1,875 points.

Milli Takim has gone a massive overhaul since the last tournament.  The new line is as follows:
  • Ozgur Acisu (captain)
  • Daniel Lonigro (vice-captain)
  • Gustavo Florence
  • Chris Aldunate
  • Dimitri Gigimenez
  • Simon Guyom
The only remaining members from the last tournament are captain Ozgur Acisu and vice-captain Daniel Lonigro.  The new signings are all active members at the Brunswick Futsal Center.  All members have extensive indoor and outdoor experience, and since the major overhaul six months ago, they have gelled well together.  Since their formation, not only has the team won numerous futsal competitions, their players have been awarded various individual awards such as golden boots and MVP.

Dimitri Gigmenez and Simon Guyom have fantastic shots, whilst Gustavo Florence and Daniel Lonigro have great ball control.  Chris Aldunate and Ozgur Acisu are very experienced goal-keepers and defenders.

After an early exit last tournament, Milli Takim will not be settling for anything less than a finals position.  The team is now well-practiced and more than ready to make amends for their disappointing exit last tournament.

Milli Takim was particularly looking forward to playing against The Replacements who defeated them 3-0 in their last encounter.  However, as they will have to wait for the next tournament as The Replacements are not fielding a team in the MKS Melbourne Shield tournament.  Amidst rumours of Wolves FC securing the services of some players from The Replacements, Ozgur Acisu is looking forward to playing against them as it would mean that two of his close friends are in the team.

Milli Takim is looking forward to the MKS Melbourne Shield, having thoroughly enjoyed the last tournament.  As they are not a Mauritian-based team, captain Ozgur Acisu says that they are very honoured to be able to take part in the tournament and passes on his tanks to MKS Melbourne.  However, Milli Takim do hope that some questionable behaviour that were exhibited towards them at the last tournament from certain teams because they are not a Mauritian-based team will not be repeated.  That was a huge disappointment to what Milli Takim otherwise considered a fantastic tournament.  Putting the negativity aside, Ozgur Acisu says that his team is eagerly looking forward to the MKS Melbourne Shield.

Milli Takim has thus far won 4 League 1 titles at 3 different venues and have been runners-up on 2 separate occasions.  Between them, Dimitri Gigimenez and Simon Guyom have won 4 MVP awards and 2 golden boots.  Although only their second attempt at an MKS Melbourne tournament, Milli Takim is definitely not a team to be underestimated.  Given their long list of achievements, it seems the only missing award is the MKS Melbourne Shield!
