The most prominent change is that MKS Melbourne will now be hiring professional referees to officiate matches. This is in contrast to past practices in which teams provided referees. The old practice resulted in inconsistent applications of the law of the game.
As with all other tournaments, MKS Melbourne will be awarding the winners and runners-up with medals. In addition to this, and to live up to the name of the tournament, the winning team will also be awarded a shield to commemorate their victory.
